99 Ways
Friday September 8, 2006

Honestly, I didn’t think I’d finish it. Before this week, I felt like seeing as how I hadn’t started working on it yet, I simply wouldn’t have the time to put together a submission for the Third Coast International Audio Festival’s 2006 ShortDoc project 99 Ways to Tell a Radio Story. But I did have this small story I never finished sitting on my harddrive waiting for a home. So in a couple of evenings, I prodded and squished and balled up the tape of that little narrative so that it would fit the guidelines laid out by the Third Coast folks and cartoonist Matt Madden. Because this year’s competition requires that producers actually construct a story instead of pitch one, there’s an abundance of really diverse and great work up on the Third Coast site—my submission is #54. The Dave in the story is funny, funny writer and nice guy Dave Yoo.
