In Case Your Radio is Broken
Thursday October 13, 2005

At the risk of making this look like some kind of music blog by posting twice in a row about records, I call your attention to some finalized details about the next Cat Power record. I cringed when I first heard that the album would be called The Greatest, but if the title track Matador posted is any indication, this album will be just as soul crushing as Chan’s others (even if Matador swears it will be “life-affirming”). Isn’t it scary when an artist perfectly articulates a feeling you never knew you had? If you want to risk it, there’s some live dates as well.

And in bigger nerdy news – the highlight of the year for radio geeks like me, the Third Coast International Audio Festival conference, starts this Thursday. If you can’t make it, transom.org is once again blogging like mad from the conference. These four smart people will no doubt keep you informed of all the interesting sounds, informative sessions, and pure debauchery happening over the weekend. There’s also tons of public events happening in conjunction with the conference.
